There are now new ways for Girl Scouts of all ages to explore their world, whether online or unplugged!
The newest class of badges take on even more topics that Girl Scouts and their families care about such as building on lifelong money management skills, developing a better understanding of the Girl Scout Law, learning how current interests align with jobs in STEM and helping heal our world through action.
Earning the badges is also easier than ever: based on feedback from girls, volunteers and families, the new badge booklets now include a volunteer guide and printable activity pages for girls, as well as new badge overviews in the Volunteer Toolkit and fun and fast badge introductions in gsLearn.
Love the Outdoors
Adventure awaits with Girl Scouts Love the Outdoors Challenge! This program invites Girl Scouts to get outside, explore nature, and appreciate the wonders in their community. No matter where they live, there’s always something new to discover and endless ways to have fun outside. Whether it’s splashing in puddles, searching for stars in the sky, or discovering a national park for the first time, the opportunities are limitless. Join the Girl Scouts Love the Outdoors Challenge by encouraging Girl Scouts to put themselves out there with 50 fun outdoor activities!
Tree Promise
Join the effort to protect the planet from the effects of climate change. With the Girl Scout Tree Promise program, Girl Scouts can make a difference by pledging to plant, protect, and honor trees. In partnership with the Elliott Wildlife Values Project, American Forests, and The Arbor Day Foundation, Girl Scouts will help reverse the effects of climate change while working towards a better future by planting trees, helping to conserve wildlife, and protecting the environments we all call home.
Love State Parks
Who knew you could help make the world a better place by exploring a local state park? Every September, Girl Scouts head out with friends and family to discover the fun and importance of Girl Scouts Love State Parks Weekend. Not only do they get to participate in a variety of outdoor activities like watersports, stargazing, family hikes and more, but they also help make a difference by fostering a clean environment with Pick Up America. Every Girl Scout has what it takes to lead the way to a better planet for all.

Mental Wellness
When it comes to caring for mental wellness, Girl Scouts' new Mental Wellness patch program reminds girls there are many ways to care for their mental well-being, with fun activities made to foster resilience and help her better understand her world. These activities encourage Girl Scouts to learn about their emotions, how to support a friend in need, and how to participate in self-care like journaling and meditation.

World Thinking Day
Want to make a difference on a global level? Join fellow Girl Scouts and Girl Guides from over 150 countries around the world to celebrate our beloved annual tradition, World Thinking Day on February 22! This year the theme couldn’t be more important as we tackle “Our World, Our Thriving Future: The environment and global poverty. If you’re ready to think big and explore different perspectives and cultures in your community and beyond, let’s get started!
Animal Observer (Daisies):
The Daisy Animal Observer badge teaches Girl Scouts how much they can learn by watching and listening to animals in their natural habitats. They’ll channel their inner researcher and develop observation skills by looking at animal tracks, listening to sounds, and taking notes on what they see.

Animal Habitats (Juniors):
Discover where your favorite wild animals live! The Junior Animal Habitats badge gives Girl Scouts a chance to investigate the different places animals make their homes—and build their very own animal house—while learning how they can help protect them.

Animal Helpers (Cadettes):
In this updated badge, Cadettes discover how animals help people and how they can help animals in return. The Animal Helpers badge explores the human/animal connection through fun activities about search-and-rescue animals, emotional and physical support animals, and more. Cadettes will learn how they can give back by helping the creatures that help us.

Financial Literacy (Daisies through Ambassadors):
Gain control of your financial success. The modernized Financial Literacy badges aim to develop confidence in money matters. Girl Scouts will understand the value of money, know the importance of budgeting and learn how to plan for the future. These skills are essential at any age.
Daisy Petal (Daisies):
The Daisy Petals offer a new and fun way for girls, parents and volunteers to navigate the first two years of Girl Scouting. These new activities help build on the existing inventory of Petal programming.
Brownie Pets Badge (Brownies):
Do you have what it takes to be a pet owner? An updated version of the Brownie Pets badge will teach you what you need to know about caring for your furry friend.
STEM Career (Daisies, Seniors and Ambassadors):
Connect the dots and learn how your passions and skill set can mean a career in the STEM industry.
Global Action Award (All Ages):
The Global Action Award has Girl Scouts in the front seat by empowering them to take action in their communities. Learn about the environment and global poverty, raise awareness and join in the effort of creating a better world.
