This event has no-show clause applied to our GSWCF Cancellation Policy. If a volunteer fails to notify us and does not show up for the scheduled event, they will be charged the full cost of the training provided ($45). See Cancellation Policy below for more details.


This training is a blended learning course, with a prerequisite online course before attending the in-person portion. Access to the online portion is provided to registered participants two weeks out from the training via email. Gain knowledge and skills for emergency life-saving techniques involving infants, children, and adults.  By completing this training, you are qualified to be your troop's First Aider. The Troop First Aider is an adult background-checked member who holds a current Child/Adult CPR-FA Certification and accompanies the troop/group on activities.

Prerequisite: Completion of the online CPR/FA Red Cross course

Learning Objectives:
- Recognize and respond appropriately to cardiac, breathing, and first aid emergencies
- Understand how to give immediate care to a suddenly injured or ill person until more advanced medical person arrive

Completion of this training does not guarantee automatic approval or certification. This course is designed to prepare volunteers to lead Girl Scout programming independently and responsibly. To be approved, participants must demonstrate the learning objectives above and be able to apply it to real-life situations when appropriate. Final approval is at the discretion of the trainer, based on the participant's engagement, preparedness, and ability to meet the standards required to ensure girl safety and uphold Girl Scout values.


Confirmation Email:
Will be sent out two weeks before the event start date. Important: The confirmation email will includes required prework, packing lists, trainer contact information and other important details need to prepare for the day of the training.

Refund/Cancellation Guidelines:
* All cancellation requests must be submitted in writing via email and sent directly to info@gswcf.org
* There will be no refunds or transfers for no-shows. Please refer to the training description for information regarding potential no-show fees.
* Refund requests received on or after 6/14/2026 will not be eligible for a refund, except in extenuating circumstances on a case-by-case request.
