he Sleepover at the Florida Aquarium. There were a lot of challenges to get it put together but it ended up being an amazing experience that many of the girls want to repeat!
I could not do this without the help of my coleader, Carrie. She manages all the things I can’t and more- together we make a great team for our girls!

1. If you need help just ask. Your fellow Girl Scout Sisters have been there done that and are very willing to provide you with support and supplies if they have them.
2. Be willing to dive in with your girls. The girls are more excited about the activities when you are participating with them.
3. You don’t have to overthink it. This is girl led and the girls will tell you what they want to learn.
My two favorite things about being a Girl Scout leader, this is a hard one. There are so many reasons! Watching the girls learn new skills and being proud to show them off is by far one of my favorite things. Another one of my favorite things about being a troop leader is learning right along side of my scouts. I have learned so many new skills since becoming a troop leader and can’t wait to learn more.
One of my favorite Girl Scout memories is our Ohana encampment. The long drive was full of singing and laughter. The girls loved every moment of it and so did I. They were eager to find out where they were sleeping, what the schedule was and playing at the park was a must! The girls impressed me when they showed the ropes to the newest scout. It was her first time camping with Girl Scouts and she had a blast. We danced the night away at the luau and the girls even packed up in the morning without being asked!
Girl Scouts has been a life changing experience for my two girls and I. I love Girl Scouts!
