Tampa, FL —September 26, 2025 — Girl Scouts of West Central Florida (GSWCF) announces a charitable grant of $10,000 from Suncoast Credit Union Foundation. This funding will help ensure more girls can attend summer camp in 2026 and experience the transformative power of Girl Scouts.
Through this financial support, girls will have the opportunity to build confidence, independence, and lifelong friendships in a safe outdoor setting. Camp experiences are a cornerstone of Girl Scouts, offering girls the chance to explore nature, challenge themselves, and grow into leaders.
“We are grateful to Suncoast Credit Union Foundation for their commitment to opening doors for girls in our community,” said GSWCF CEO Mary Pat King. “Camp is more than just fun. It’s where girls discover their strengths, step outside their comfort zones, and gain the courage, confidence, and character to thrive. Thanks to this generous grant, more girls will have access to these life-changing experiences.”
Suncoast Credit Union, Florida’s largest credit union, founded the Suncoast Credit Union Foundation to promote the education, health and emotional well-being of children in the community. Each time a Suncoast member uses their debit or credit card, the credit union donates four cents to the Foundation to fund local initiatives. Since its inception in 1990, the Foundation has raised and donated over $55 million.
“Summer camp grows the minds and spirits of children and youth and in Girl Scouts, core memories are made while discovering interests and developing connection,” said Jeff Kunberger, Executive Director of Suncoast Foundations. “And this is the essence of our mission – to improve lives. Since camp is an exploration of learning, it’s just a perfect fit with our education roots,” he added.
