Do you (or someone you know in the council) love being a Girl Scout and want to share that enthusiasm with others by taking promotional photos, posing for photos, interviewing others, being interviewed, and/or capturing or starring in video promotions about all things Girl Scouts? If so, please consider applying to be a GSWCF Media Girl for the 2023-2024 membership year.
Media Girls serve as an extension of the council’s Marketing and Communications Department and are assigned to different levels of participation based on age and ability. A media training will be offered, as well as multiple opportunities to serve as a Media Girl throughout the year. GSWCF Girl Scouts in kindergarten through grade 12 are encouraged to apply.
Current and future Media Girls are asked to complete the application by Oct. 1 at 10 p.m. to be considered for this year’s Media Girls team. Additional information is detailed in the application. Girls will be selected based on the quality of their application, and with an emphasis towards equitable representation from the counties within the council.
The Media Girls are a team of Girl Scouts who help tell the Girl Scout story through media interviews, community events, content creation and more. They are often featured in marketing materials, social media and council communications (videos, blogs, etc.). Media Girls develop personal, social and professional skills by participating in opportunities throughout the year. (They earn some badges, too.)
Media Girls thrive in front of the camera and behind it. They exude courage, confidence and character. They are ambitious, creative, brave and determined. They’re Girl Scouts through and through—and they’re not afraid to show it!
