Prerequisite: Completion of the Oak Arrow Novice Session on February 7 or 21 is required to participate.
Path to the Archer: Archery Progression Series is a five-session
skill-building journey designed to take archers from beginner to
expert over six months. Each session builds on the last, helping
participants develop confidence, precision, and mastery in a fun,
supportive environment. Along the way, archers will earn an exclusive
progression patch for each session, collect all five by completing the
full series!
The series includes:
* Ember
(Beginner) - Learn the fundamentals of stance, grip, draw, aim, and
release. Celebrate your first shots, practice on large targets, and
log your starting skill baseline. Earn the Ember Patch as your first
step on the path. This session takes place Jan. 18 or 31.
* Oak
Arrow (Novice) - Strengthen consistency and form through steady-shot
routines and smaller targets. Earn the Oak Arrow Patch. This session
takes place February 7 or 21.
* Falcon Eye (Intermediate) -
Sharpen focus, accuracy, and awareness with new challenges like angled
and timed shots. Earn the Falcon Eye Patch. This session takes place
March 15 or 22.
* Iron Bow (Advanced) - Build power, control,
and endurance with long-distance shots and multi-arrow sequences. Earn
the Iron Bow Patch. This session takes place April 25
* The
Archer (Expert) - Put your mastery to the test with hero-style
challenges and our brand-new 3-D targets. Earn the Expert Archer
Patch, the pinnacle of the series. This session takes place May
23.
In this series, participants will:
* Learn and
refine archery skills step-by-step
* Build confidence, focus,
and consistency
* Track their progress from first spark to
expert-level skill
* Take on increasingly challenging courses
and techniques
* Earn five exclusive progression patches, one at
each level
Sharpen your accuracy and focus in the Falcon Eye
Intermediate Session, the third step in the Path to the Archer:
Archery Progression Series. This session builds on the Oak Arrow
skills, introducing more technical challenges, including angled
targets, timed exercises, and smaller scoring zones to test precision
and mental focus.
Participants will refine their shot control,
develop better awareness on the range, and learn to stay calm under
pressure, all essential skills for advanced archery.
Archers who
complete this session will earn the Falcon Eye Patch, marking their
progression from novice to intermediate. This session prepares
participants for the advanced challenges of Iron Bow (Advanced).
Event Registration Guidelines:
Events must be paid in full with a credit/debit card to
complete the registration process and immediately secure your
spot.
Council programs and events can be paid for by redeeming
your Girl Scout's Program Credit/Council Dough/Council Credit, by
selecting "Program Credit" during check out, but this
process does not guarantee your spot in the program due to the two to
three days of processing time. To ensure your spot is secured at the
time of registration, it is recommended that you pay for the event
using a credit/debit card and then email info@gswcf.org or call
813-281-4475 to apply credits to the order and reimburse your card.
You will be asked to provide the event name, attendees' name(s), and
the amount of credits you'd like to apply.
Adult Chaperones:
All girls are welcome to attend this event but must be
accompanied by a registered adult member. If the adult is not her
parent/guardian, the chaperone must also have a valid background
check.
Adults must register for this event if they will be
attending.
Leaders who register for this event as a troop
activity must adhere to only bringing enough adults to provide
girl/adult safety ratio as described in Volunteer Essentials.
Confirmation Email:
Will be sent out prior to the event's start date. Please refer
to the confirmation email for any required forms/waivers. Please
print, complete, sign, and bring with you to check-in at the event. If
you are not attending with your Girl Scout, please be sure to send the
completed documents with her or the chaperone in charge.
Refund/Cancellation Guidelines:
* All cancellation requests must be submitted in writing via
email and sent directly to info@gswcf.org.
* There will be no refunds
or transfers for no-shows.
* Refund requests received on or
after 3/8/2026
will not be eligible for a refund, except in
extenuating circumstances on a case-by-case request.
