Our new camp reservation system launches at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday, November 5! We’re so excited for this new era of camp reservations. Today on our blog, we’re giving you a preview of everything the new system has to offer and everything you need to do to reserve campsites and program areas for troop camping experiences.
Our new camp reservations system requires a user account with individual login credentials to make reservations. To make this transition as smooth and easy as possible for our volunteers, the outdoor program team has been creating accounts for those individuals who make reservations for troops or service units. If you haven’t requested an account yet, there’s still time to do so. On that form, you also have the opportunity to indicate if you would like us to use this information to update your troop/personal contact information and opt-in to text-message communications from GSWCF.
Once you log into the system, you can search for day-use areas by date, and overnight reservations by either date or camp.
When you search by location, you can use simplified versions of our new camp maps to visualize where you’ll be staying — no more accidentally reserving Gator thinking it was by the horses. Just enter the dates you’ll be at camp and click ‘search’. You can even filter your search by amenity, so you can make sure your campsite is ADA accessible or has a full kitchen. You can even make sure that there are no outlets in the cabins to ensure your girls have a technology free camping experience! Keep in mind that at this time, overnight reservations are limited to no more than three days, and they must be made for a Friday, Saturday, or Sunday. (For weekday reservations, email us). If you’d like to see what’s available over a longer period of time you can try searching by date.
To reserve day-use program areas (and overnight areas, too), you’ll need to search by date. Searching by date allows you to see everything that’s available at all of our camp properties over an extended period of time. You can even see everything that’s available for an entire month (say, January 2020?). Again, you can add filters to your search to narrow your results and find the perfect place for your next outdoor adventure!
To reserve an equestrian or challenge course experience for your troop, you’ll need to continue to use the program request forms. You can find the equestrian one here and the one for the challenge course here.
Lastly, to ensure you have all the information you need, we’ve created webinars to walk you step-by-step through creating an account and resetting your password, making a reservation by date, or by location. And if you have more questions you can always reach out to us.
