Girl Scout Cookie season is officially here! This program is so much more than just selling boxes of delicious treats. Girls who participate learn 5 essential skills that will benefit her throughout her life – goal-setting, decision-making, money management, people skills and business ethics – while also providing funds for your Girl Scout adventures.
In today’s blog, we’re giving a brief overview of the 2019 cookie program. We have some new features this year to help enhance your sales and save you time. Plus, we have links for additional information and resources.
We are kicking off Girl Scout Cookie season with Digital Cookie online sales! If you haven’t started, there’s plenty of time to log on the website and get started here. This is your chance to sell on your own digital storefront. Customize your Me2 aviator to look like you and record a personal message for your customers. Send emails to everyone you know to tell them it is cookie time! They have the option to have the cookies shipped to them or still get that face to face interaction with your delivering cookies to them.
Fun Fact - Did you participate in the Fall Product Program online? You’re in luck – this is the same system you used before.
Cookies on the Spot
We’re changing things up this year. Rather than customers having to preorder cookies in January and wait up to 5 weeks to receive them – girls will go door-to-door with cookies already in hand. We call this – Cookies on the Spot. Girl Scouts will receive their cookie inventory earlier in the season and girls can sell them directly to the customer for instant gratification - no delays or waiting for weeks to get their delicious cookies!
This new process saves time by eliminating the preorder step and removes the possibility of Girl Scouts returning to deliver the preordered cookies when the customer is not home or cannot pay for the product. It's a win-win for everyone! Simply put, Cookies on the Spot:
- Is easier, more efficient, and a time saver for Girl Scouts, families and troops
- Combines order taking and delivery in one-step with no back and forth in ordering and delivery attempts
- Offers girls more opportunities to increase sales and earn more proceeds
- Gives instant cookie gratification to everyone
Best of all, this new process does not affect our traditional booth selling period!
Gift of Caring and Hometown Heroes
This year we have two options for troops to participate in giving back through the Girl Scout Cookie Program with our Gift of Caring or Hometown Heroes.
The Gift of Caring program is a Girl Scout community service project that provides donated Girl Scout Cookies to active military men and women through Support the Troops, Inc. In addition, Girl Scouts of West Central Florida also disburses some of the donated cookies to Feeding Tampa Bay.
Girls can also participate in our Gift of Caring Corporate Sponsorship program, where they request businesses become a Gift of Caring sponsor. Depending on the level of sponsorship, the company receives various benefits. Girls who obtain these sponsorships receive credit for the total number of packages sold in eBudde. If she receives $500 or more in sponsorships, she will also earn a mystery gift.
With the Hometown Heroes program, troops/girls can choose a local community-serving organization to participate in philanthropy and community service through the Girl Scout Cookie Program.
