Girl Scout Sweets and Treats (the Fall Product Program) begins in just five days, and we’re so excited to share this incredible program with you! Today we’re giving you a sneak peak of what’s in store this Fall and why you should participate in the program. Here are 10 ways you can Be the Difference in the 2019 Girl Scout Sweets and Treats Program.
1. Learn 5 Essential Skills
The Fall Product Program is a great introduction to running your own business. When girls participate they earn more than just patches and rewards; they get hands-on experience to help them become successful in the future. The Fall Product Program is an awesome starting point for building five essential skills that girls can use for a lifetime: goal-setting, decision-making, money-management, people skills, and business ethics.
2. Start building troop funds NOW
There's no need to wait until the 2020 Girl Scout Cookie Program kicks off in January, there’s too much cool stuff to do right now! The average troop earns $191 in startup money to fund troop activities and get their year started off right! Girls will help their troops earn money to buy supplies, pay membership fees, and give back to the community with service projects.
3. Awesome Rewards
Girls love getting the rewards as much as we love giving them. Great shirts, plushies, jewelery, journals, craft kits, tickets to see Jurassic World Live, or go on a Busch Gardens Safari Tour! You can even earn your Girl Scout Uniform when you sell 70 nut & chocolate items! Girls will show off their stellar business acumen by displaying colorful patches that show she has the skills to Be The Difference. Check out all the rewards on the back of the order card.
4. Earn Your Spot in the Exclusive S'mores Club
The S’mores Club celebrates GSWCF Girl Scouts and Adult Volunteers who excel in both the 2019 Girl Scout Sweets and Treats and the 2020 Girl Scout Cookie programs. Girls and Volunteers who earn a place in the S'mores Club during the 2019-2020 membership year receive a special S’mores Club patch and an exclusive sterling silver bracelet with uniquely designed charms. 5. Care to Share
Giving back to the community never tasted so good! The Care to Share program donates items to our military troops overseas as well as our local veteran and food banks. Girls that sell a minimum of five Care to Share items will receive the Care to Share patch. Items sold through this program will be distributed with the help of Support the Troops, Inc.
6. Me2 Avatars and the M2 Online Storefront are back!
Girls custom design their Me2 Avatar to look like themselves and fit their own individuality. Not only will this be featured on her personal online store, girls can earn TWO patches that feature their Me2 Avatar- one for Sweets and Treats and a crossover patch tied to participating in both Sweets and Treats and the Girl Scout Cookie Program.
With the M2 media site, managing online magazine and nut and candy orders is so easy. Girls create their own online storefront with their Me2 Avatar, and they can even record a personalized message for their avatar to deliver in their own voice. Customer email addresses will carry over from last year's Sweets and Treats and Girl Scout Cookie Programs. Just enter in your new customers, and the system will send out a couple of reminder messages throughout the sale to your customer list, taking your business to the next level.
7. Become a Conservationist
This year's Sweet's and Treats mascot is the northern white rhino, and sadly, there are only two left in existence, Najin and her daughter, Fatu. While participating in the Sweets and Treats program, girls are encouraged to learn about northern white rhinos and use some of their funds to carry out take action projects relating to the conservation of this endangered species. Learn more about the northern white rhino.
8. Capture the Roaming Rhino
Now that last year's mascot, Maggie the Moose, is no longer on the loose and has found a forever family, there's a new quadriped wandering our council, Najin the White Rhino! She’s going on adventures throughout our council and can't wait to be adopted by one of our go-getters. We’ll be posting sightings of Najin on our Facebook page. At the end of Sweets and Treats, one lucky Girl Scout entrepreneur will get to take this special 3' tall Najin home! Learn more about the Roaming Rhino contest.
9. It's for every G.I.R.L.!
Not in a troop? Or, in a troop that's not participating? You can still be involved! Any Girl Scout can earn rewards and receive council credits by participating in Sweets and Treats. To get started, please contact your troop fall product program manager or email the Product Program Team. Learn more.
10. Delicious sweets and treats that make great gifts!
With M2 Media Group and Trophy Nut as our program partners we have curated a delicious roster of nut and chocolate products to choose from, including new commemorative Girl Scout and seasonal holiday tins that are perfect for gifting.
