Hit the Road this Summer with Travel Camps!

Summer is quickly approaching. We know you’re counting down the days. You’re ready to take a break from school work and your everyday routine. But what are you going to do with your new found free time?

Summer time is the perfect time to go all out and have an adventure of a lifetime!

Take a risk. Break the norm. Do something unexpected. But how? 

Don’t worry – we’ve got you covered. We have it all planned out. Just pack up your bags and meet us at camp. That’s where the real adventure begins!

We all know about the traditional fun that happens at Girl Scout Summer Camps from horseback riding at Camp Wildwood, archery, swimming, crafts to kayaking the shoreline at Camp Wai Lani. Join us for a thr3-part blog series as we show you the not so common camps happening this summer. What if we said you can discover your techie side, travel back in time, become a culinary genius, or hit the road and discover new places all in one summer? Well, you can! It’s all happening at Girl Scout Summer Camps!

Buckle up and prepare for an adventure of a lifetime on the open road with GSWCF travel camps! Back by popular demand, GSWCF kicks the summer time fun up a notch.

This summer, we’re offering three completely different travel camps to choose from for our older girls. All three camps start and end their weeks at Camp Wildwood. You’ll get to enjoy some of your favorite traditional camp activities as you prepare to break the norm and venture outside the confines of camp.

Florida Waterways Explorer 
July 15-21
Girls entering grades 7 – 12

You’ll spend nights and some days at Camp Wildwood enjoying traditional camp activities like archery and swimming, while preparing for day trips later in the week where you’ll swim in springs, take airboat rides, kayak, and go on river safaris. Learn more.

Ocala National Forest Expedition
July 22-28
Girls entering grades 7-12

You’ll begin the week at Camp Wildwood preparing for your trip, you'll learn how to pack for backpacking trips, and help prepare the food you’ll take to your campsite in Ocala National Forest. On your hike you’ll get to visit Juniper Springs Recreation Area, the crown jewel of Civilian Conservations Corps recreation construction in Ocala National Forest. Learn more.

North Carolina Mountain Adventure – 10 days long!
July 25-Aug. 4
Girls entering grades 9-12

The adventure begins at Camp Wildwood with team building activities and preparation for your trip. Then you’ll hit the road and head to the mountains for backpacking, tent camping, and rafting or canoeing (weather permitting) on one of North Carolina’s many rivers. Learn more.
