Thank you for joining Girl
Scouts of West Central Florida and presenting sponsor, Publix
Charities, for the first-ever digital version of our signature
fundraiser! We hope your evening was entertaining and inspiring.
Because of generous donors like you, this year's event is providing
critical funding for things like membership, camp experiences,
essential supplies, programs and so much more. Special kudos to
everyone who participated in our friendly kitchen breakout fundraising
competition which alone added nearly $7,000 to our overall fundraising
efforts.
We loved hanging out in each of the breakout kitchens, learning and
laughing along with chefs and hosts alike! In the Samoa Kitchen, Chef
Katie noted that all of your cheesecake ingredients should be at room
temperature to keep it from cracking when it bakes. Denis Phillips
taught the Thin Mint Kitchen that his Rule #7 also applies to baking.
Chef Christina informed the Tagalong Kitchen about the many uses of
the sourdough starter. The Trefoil Kitchen found out from Chef Amber
how to accidentally avoid making chocolate scrambled eggs. If you'd
like to view all four Cookie Kitchen videos so you can make (or
perfect) all of the evening's desserts plus see some pictures from the
event, we'll be sharing them on this page next week.
Special thanks to each of the chefs who donated their time to share
their culinary expertise with us: Christina Cann, Katie Cox, Pamela
Fulks, Amber Pruett, and Brett Wiewiora. We deeply appreciate our
wonderful kitchen hosts (and their helpers) who showed off their own
baking skills: Meredyth Censullo, Ernest Hooper, and Denis Phillips.
And, of course, thanks to our emcee/kitchen host Lissette Campos for
being our guide throughout the evening. Thank you to the businesses
and organizations who donated the wonderful raffle prizes that made
the evening more exciting.
