Girl Scout Cookie Program Activity Pin and Badges

Cookie Activity Pin

All girls who participate in the Girl Scout Cookie Program are eligible to earn the annual Cookie Activity Pin. This pin recognizes the 5 Skills learned and practiced during the Girl Scout Cookie Program: Goal Setting, Decision Making, Money Management, People Skills, and Business Ethics. The Activity Pin is available at the Girl Scout Store.  

Daisy Financial Literacy Badges

Count It Up- Learn how much coins and bills are worth. Find out what cookies cost. Learn about different kinds of cookies. Set a sales goal.  When you've earned this leaf, you'll know how your cookie money adds up.

Making Choices- Learn the difference between needs and wants. Find out the difference between needs and wants. Try setting a goal to save for what you want. Help others with what they need and want. When you've earned this leaf, you'll know more about how to make choices about using money.

Money Counts- Find out about money. You can use it to buy things, and you can use it to help other people too. Understand different kinds of coins. Know more about paper money. Find out the cost of fun. When you've earned this leaf, you'll know more about money and what it's worth.

Talk It Up- When you take part in the Girl Scout Cookie Program, you are helping with the largest business run by girls in the whole world. Now, choose what to do with the money you earn. Decide how to use your cookie money. Talk about how to use cookie money to help others. Inspire your customers. When you've earned this leaf, you'll be able to decide how to best use your cookie money.

Brownie Financial Literacy Badges

Give Back- Find out how philanthropists give money to help others. Then use the skills you learned to come up with ideas for how to give back with some of your cookie money! Find out about businesses that give back. Set a giving goal. Involve your customers. Practice giving back. Tell your cookie customers how they helped. When you’ve earned this badge, you’ll know how businesses help others—and how you can do the same thing.

Meet My Customers- Find out how to manage your money by pretending to be a customer. Then use what you learned to make sure your cookie customers enjoy buying from you. Find out where your customers are. Talk to some customers. Practice handling money and making change. Role-play good customer relations. Thank your customers! When you’ve earned this badge, you’ll know how to find customers and be comfortable selling to them.

Money Manager- Learn the difference between needs, like food and clothing, and wants, like video games and movie tickets. Shop for elf items with your elf doll. Go grocery shopping. Go clothes shopping. Get ready for school. Have some fun. When you’ve earned this badge, you’ll know how to manage money wisely.

Philanthropist- Find out more about basic human needs and learn how you can be a "philanthropist"—a person who gives to people who need help! Learn what every person needs. Investigate how to help people who are hungry. Find out how to help people who need clothing. Know how to help in times of emergency. Think—and act—like a philanthropist. When you’ve earned this badge, you’ll know how to help people in need.

Junior Financial Literacy Badges

Cookie CEO- When you sell Girl Scout Cookies, you're already running your own busines—and you can earn this badge for it! Set a group goal. Explore how a small business works. Create a cookie sale job list. Learn to make a good impression. Track your sales. When you’ve earned this badge, you’ll know more about how to run all parts of your cookie business.

Business Owner- Find out how you can turn something you love into a successful business. Explore a business you might like to start someday. Learn the basics of running a business. Find out what kind of support is available for small-business owners. Investigate what makes great customer service. Understand the importance of consumer research. When you’ve earned this badge, you'll know the basic steps to plan and create a new business.

Customer Insights- Use what you learn from your customers to make your cookie business even stronger! Ask an expert what customers want. Do some research at the grocery store. Find out who buys cookies and why. Learn from people who don't buy. Listen for clues and ask great questions. When you’ve earned this badge, you’ll have a better understanding of your cookie customers.

Savvy Shopper- Explore the difference between needs and wants, and learn how to save for both. Explore your needs and wants. Look into why you want what you want. Find out what makes people happy (or not!) with what they buy. Learn how to decide what to buy. Make a plan to buy something you need or want. When you’ve earned this badge, you’ll know the difference between what you need and what you want—and you’ll be able to wisely save money for both.

Cadette Financial Literacy Badges

Business Plan- Find out how to create a business plan. Write your mission statement and business goals. Increase your customer base. Get into the details. Make a risk management plan. Gather expert feedback on your plan. When you’ve earned this badge, you’ll know how to write an effective business plan for your cookie business. 

Financing My Dreams- Find out how to turn your daydreams into real life—and then learn how to budget for them. Explore dream jobs. Price out buying your dream home. Research dream vacations. Make a dream giving goal. Add up your dreams! When you’ve earned this badge, you’ll know the realities of budgeting and how to practice financial habits that will help you in the future.

Marketing- Find out how to sort through promotions, deals, and ads to find the best bargain for you. Then use what you learned to create a strong advertisement and marketing message for your cookie sale. Find out more about brand identity. Check out the competition. Research other products that have a philanthropic angle. Develop your marketing message. Create your marketing campaign. When you’ve earned this badge, you’ll know how to create a marketing plan for your cookie business.

Think Big- Come up with a big goal and then take your cookie business to a whole new level so you can achieve it. Come up with a big idea. Take your sales to the next level. Sell your big dream to others. Ask experts to help you take your plan up a notch. Share your experience in a big way. When you’ve earned this badge, you’ll know how to set bigger goals for your cookie sale and come up with creative ways to reach them.

Comparison Shopping- Learn how to use the internet to find great products and save money. Learn to comparison shop. Find out how to use online reviews. Check out the fine print. Investigate how to avoid online fraud. Know how to manage your online shopping. When you've earned this badge, you'll know how to go online to find the best deals on the best products in the safest way possible.

Senior Financial Literacy Badges

Buying Power- Find out about the long-term impact of making a big purchase and understand how you need to be prepared to keep paying for your purchases long after you've started to use the items. ompare costs and options. Conduct consumer research. Calculate the long-term costs. Investigate ways to find better deals. Create a savings plan for a big purchase you'd like to make. When you’ve earned this badge, you’ll know how to research and budget for a big purchase for yourself or your family.

Customer Loyalty- Find out how to engage your cookie customers so they'll keep coming back for more. Show how cookie money helps girls. Connect with former cookie sellers. Build your customer list. Create a customer-appreciation program. Keep your customer connection. When you’ve earned this badge, you’ll know how to build your cookie business by increasing customer loyalty.

My Portfolio- Find out how you can use your cookie sales experience to stand out in the future.  Create a cookie resume. Put together a cookie portfolio. Get feedback about how to market yourself for a job or college interview. Write an essay about what you learned from the cookie sale. Learn how to ace an interview. When you’ve earned this badge, you’ll be able to show college admissions officers and employers what you’ve learned from your cookie sales experience.

Financing My Future- Declare your dreams for your educational future and then figure out how to finance them so you can start planning thoughtfully for your future. Declare your dreams. Decide what you need and want. Go comparison shopping. Explore your financial aid options. Build a blueprint for your future. When you’ve earned this badge, you’ll have a plan for your educational future—including ideas on how to pay for it.

Ambassador Financial Literacy Badges

Good Credit- Know what it takes to keep good credit and borrow money wisely, including how to pay back what you owe in time. Get the scoop on credit scores. Find out how bank loans work. Learn the ins and outs of credit cards. Gather real-life borrowing stories. Write your own credit commitment. When you’ve earned this badge, you’ll know more about ways to responsibly borrow money and understand the importance of establishing good credit.

On My Own- Know how to create and stick to a budget so you can avoid financial pitfalls and be independent. Plan for where you'll live. Plan for your daily needs. Plan for having fun. Plan for the unexpected. Plan for sharing with others. When you’ve earned this badge, you’ll understand the importance of creating a budget—a skill that will help you wherever life leads.

P&L- Find out how to apply the values of honesty and responsibility to your cookie business. Find out more about business ethics. Create your own cookie promise. Pass on your customer list. Teach younger Girl Scouts about the business ethics of the cookie sale. Leave a legacy. When you’ve earned this badge, you'll know how to apply your Girl Scout values to your cookie business.

Research & Development- Find out more about one way that businesses plan for the future—research and development, or R&D— and then apply what you learned to your cookie business. Analyze sales trends. Research how other companies innovate. Find out how companies use R&D to improve their products. Explore possible projects during your cookie sale. Develop a fun, new way to use Girl Scout Cookies. When you've earned this badge, you’ll know how to research and develop new ways to build your cookie business.

First Time Cookie Sellers! Learn the basics of the cookie program and earn the Cookie Rookie patch. Get full details and patch requirements here.

Cookie Techie
Cookie_Techie_Patch

When girls participate in the Digital Cookie program they have an opportunity to earn special incentives. When they sell 30+ packages they earn the Cookie Techie patch, 80+packages they earn the Iridescent Shine Bright Case, and with 100+ packages they earn the Messenger bag! Remember, rewards are cumulative, so if your go-getter sells 105 packages of cookies through Digital Cookie, she earns all three incentives!

Gift of Caring

This year we have two options for troops to participate in the Council Gift of Caring  and Hometown Hero program.

The Gift of Caring program is a Girl Scout community service project that provides donated Girl Scout cookies to our active overseas military men and women through Support the Troops, Inc.  In addition, Girl Scouts of West Central Florida also disburses some of the donated cookies to Feeding Tampa Bay.

In the Hometown Hero program troops/girls can choose local organization to participate in philanthropy and community service through the cookie program.

 

Gift of Caring Corporate Sponsorships

Girls can also participate in our Gift of Caring Corporate Sponsorship program, where they request businesses become a Gift of Caring sponsor. Depending on the level of sponsorship, the company receives various benefits. Girls who obtain these sponsorships receive credit for the total number of packages sold in eBudde. If she receives $500 or more in sponsorships, she will also earn a mystery gift. Get complete details here.

My Cookie Friend- Girls enter a fun-filled world featuring Little Brownie’s newest mascot. They’ll find games, videos and activities that inspire and engage. Girls will even be able to vote on next season’s mascot!
