Overnight Camps

The overnight experience gives girls the opportunity to grow their independence and confidence while building new relationships and developing a sense of belonging. Increasing their appreciation for the outdoors, girls will be challenged with safe, organized adventures. 

Each overnight camp offers a unique experience with a variety of activities like swimming, kayaking, making crafts, hiking, cooking over an open fire, and best of all, finding your best friend. At Girl Scout camp, all girls are treated with respect and encouraged to be their awesome selves!

Spend your days enjoying a little bit of Florida paradise at Camp Wai Lani. The lush, tropical grounds of this 48-acre camp are nestled among the mangroves on Saint Joseph Sound. With easy access to the bay, girls can choose from canoeing, kayaking, and stand-up paddleboarding while exploring the unique marine environment in the water, or at our marine lab. Plus, activites like snorkeling, archery, sewing, arts & crafts, and additions including our completely remodeled swimming pool and brand new challenge course wht a climbing tower and zip line* make this an action-packed adventure! Overnight campers will enjoy dinnertime fun, evening programs, cabin life. For those staying a full week, every Friday night brings our fabulous all-camp luau celebration with music, dancing, traditional Luau inspired food, and entertainment at our popular “Campitheater” stage.       

REMEMBER: All camp age requirements are based on the grade the girl will be when she starts school in fall 2019.

Whether you come for our traditional camp experience or choose one of our specialty horse camp sessions you are in for a wild experience! But it’s not all horseplay, there’s so much more to explore at Wildwood. Our largest camp is the perfect setting to get outdoors in a nurturing atmosphere so you can grow and learn new things about yourself and others. Enjoy archery, visits to our renowned nature center, hiking, making frontier crafts, swimming, campfires, and more. Friday ends the week with a celebration at our special camp-wide Barn Bash!

Western Riding: Learn to care for and ride your horse like a cowgirl! You’ll learn about roping and how to work with your horse as a team to complete a fun cowgirl roundup course!

Western riding: This is the perfect camp for beginners who want to learn the basics of horsemanship and riding, and have fun doing it! You’ll get to play games on and off your horse, groom, and even paint your horse!

For intermediate riders entering grades 6 — 12
Bareback riding: Ever tried riding without a saddle? Learn how to properly sit, play games, and maybe even trot as you experience the freedom of bareback riding. Plus, you’ll have the chance to try equestrian yoga, and lunging.

Western Riding: Ever wanted to do your two favorite things—horseback riding and archery—at the same time? Learn the history of, and take the fist steps toward practicing mounted archery! Girls entering grades 6–12 have the option to spend Saturday night at camp and attend the advanced mounted archery session (below) for an additional fee. Western or English riding: Interested in a career with horses? This week is for you! When you’re not riding, you’ll hear from of a variety of guest speakers in the equine science field. A veterinarian and a blacksmith are just two of the people you’ll have the chance to meet and ask all of your questions.

Take it back to the 1800’s! Experience the lifestyle of early settlers as you take part in activities like churning butter, preparing meals on an antique stove, and creating corn husk dolls. You’ll even get to sleep out at Camp Wildwood’s Homestead for a night or two during your week at camp.

Family Camp

Family Camp

(Thursday 10 a.m. – Saturday 10 a.m.), starting at $85/person

Come relax, unwind, and connect as a family at Camp Wildwood for the 4th of July. Take part in camp activities led by GSWCF staff such as archery, nature hikes, animal encounters and cooking classes. Take advantage of special child- and adult-only sessions, pool time and more! Plus, enjoy a campfire cookout with sparkler fun to celebrate the 4th of July. Families have the option to reserve their own cabin or share a cabin with another family.

Get out of your comfort zone and hit the road (or the trails) this summer! Join us for an awesome adventure in nature while you make memories that last a lifetime! All travel camps will be supervised by highly trained GSWCF staff.

Survival Excursion

June 16 - 22, $600/girl

For girls entering grades 7 — 12,

Challenge yourself as you take on the natural environment and the four core components of survival: water, shelter, fire, and food. No matter your experience level, you’ll learn to prepare for two nights sleeping in a local forest or campground while you put your survival skills to the test during off-camp excursion.

Back by popular demand, join us for 11 days of adventure starting at Camp Wildwood with team building activities, trip preparation, and traditional camp activities. Then we’ll hit the road and head to the mountains of North Carolina for thrills such as whitewater kayaking, waterfall treks, hiking, and more along the Green River and surrounding areas. We’ll return to Camp Wildwood in time for the end of summer Barn Bash!
