Overnight Camps

The overnight experience gives girls the opportunity to grow their independence and confidence while building new relationships and developing a sense of belonging. Increasing their appreciation for the outdoors, girls will be challenged with safe, organized adventures. 

Each overnight camp offers a unique experience with a variety of activities like swimming, kayaking, making crafts, hiking, cooking over an open fire, and best of all, finding your best friend. At Girl Scout camp, all girls are treated with respect and encouraged to be their awesome selves!

Spend your days enjoying a little bit of Florida paradise at Camp Wai Lani. The lush, tropical grounds of this 48-acre camp are nestled among the mangroves on Saint Joseph Sound. With easy access to the bay, girls can choose from canoeing, kayaking, and stand-up paddleboarding while exploring the unique marine environment in the water, or at our marine lab. Plus, activites like snorkeling, archery, sewing, arts & crafts, and additions including our completely remodeled swimming pool and brand new challenge course make this an action-packed adventure! Overnight campers will enjoy dinnertime fun, evening programs, cabin life. For those staying a full week, every Friday night brings our fabulous all-camp luau celebration with music, dancing, traditional Luau inspired food, and entertainment at our popular “Campitheater” stage.       

REMEMBER: All camp age requirements are based on the grade the girl will be when she starts school next fall.

Whether you come for our traditional camp experience or choose one of our specialty horse camp sessions you are in for a wild experience! And it’s not all horseplay, there’s so much more to explore at Wildwood. Our largest camp is the perfect setting to get outdoors in a nurturing atmosphere so you can grow and learn new things about yourself and others. Enjoy archery, visits to our renowned nature center, hiking, making frontier crafts, swimming, campfires, and more. Friday ends the week with a celebration at our special camp-wide Barn Bash!

For beginning riders entering grades 3 — 6
Western riding: This is the perfect camp for beginners who want to learn the basics of horsemanship and riding, and have fun doing it! You’ll get to play games on and off your horse, groom, and even paint your horse!

June 24 - 30, Freedom Riders
For intermediate riders entering grades 6 — 12
Bareback riding: Ever tried riding without a saddle? Learn how to properly sit, play games, and maybe even trot as you experience the freedom of bareback riding. Plus, you’ll have the chance to try equestrian yoga, and lunging. 

July 1 - 7, Turn and Burn
For advanced riders entering grades 7 — 12
Western riding: Have you ever watched a rodeo? Join us to practice your barrel or pole bending skills during this fun week of horse camp! You’ll also get to work with the girls in your group to complete a fun rodeo-themed course at the end of the week!

July 8 - 14, Giddy Up
For beginning riders entering grades 3 — 6
Western riding: Learn how to groom and saddle, as well as ride and steer your horse all by yourself! Work toward fun activities like a trail ride and arena games.

Western or English riding: Interested in a career with horses? This week is for you! When you’re not riding, you’ll hear from of a variety of guest speakers in the equine science field. A veterinarian and a blacksmith are just two of the people you’ll have the chance to meet and ask all of your questions.

July 22 - 28, Homestead Overnight
For intermediate riders entering grades 6 — 12
Western or English riding: Set out to camp under the stars with the horses at Camp Wildwood. You’ll learn camping skills, first aid, and horse care in the wild.

July 29 - Aug. 4, Heads Up, Heels Down
For beginning riders entering grades 3 — 6
English riding: Learn how to groom and saddle, as well as ride and steer your horse all by yourself! Work toward fun activities like a trail ride and arena games.

Spend the week honing your archery eye while working toward progressively more difficult targets on the range. As you learn about archery equipment and practice proper firing stance, you’ll improve at your own pace, and have the opportunity to customize the shooting range.

Get out of your comfort zone and hit the road (or the trails) this summer! Join us for an awesome adventure in nature while you make memories that will last a lifetime! All travel camps will be supervised by highly trained GSWCF staff.

Florida Waterways Explorer

July 15 - 21, girls entering grades 7 — 12, $600/girl

Join us for a week of day trips out to the many exciting destinations in north central Florida where girls can get their feet wet! You’ll spend nights and some days at Camp Wildwood enjoying traditional camp activities like archery and swimming, while preparing for day trips later in the week where you’ll swim in springs, take airboat rides, kayak, and go on river safaris. When the week is all said and done, you’ll get to join in on a long-standing Camp Wildwood tradition—our Barn Bash! 

Ocala National Forest Expedition

July 22 - 28, girls entering grades 7 — 12, $600/girl

Have you ever wanted to explore one of Florida’s three National Forests? Come with us! You’ll begin the week at Camp Wildwood preparing for your trip, while enjoying traditional camp activities like archery and swimming . Learn how to pack for backpacking trips, and help prepare the food you’ll take to your campsite in Ocala National Forest. You’ll see unique habitats on hikes and even get to visit Juniper Springs Recreation Area, the crown jewel of Civilian Conservations Corps recreation construction in Ocala National Forest.

10-DAY CAMP! North Carolina Mountain Adventure

July 25 -  Aug. 4, girls entering grades 9 — 12, $800/girl
Check in: Wednesday, 3 p.m., Check out: Saturday, 10 a.m. (Camp Wildwood)
Are you ready for an adventure of lifetime? Join us as we explore the mountains of North Carolina. The adventure begins at Camp Wildwood with team building activities and preparation for your trip. You’ll also take part in traditional camp activities like archery, swimming, and crafts. Then you’ll hit the road and head to the mountains for backpacking, tent camping, and rafting or canoeing (weather permitting) on one of North Carolina’s many rivers. We’ll return to Camp Wildwood in time for our end of summer Barn Bash!
