For Families and Leaders

Welcome, families!

These are certainly trying times, but that’s also why they’re the perfect time for Girl Scouts to shine their brightest. Girl Scouts have always been known for their willingness to try and for facing new, even sometimes overwhelming, challenges with optimism and creativity. Essentially, the world needs Girl Scouts right now more than ever. That’s why we’re proud to offer a new way for families to embrace the experiences, learning, and joy of Girl Scouts wherever they may be.

Your routine—and your girls’—may have changed with everything happening in our world right now. But what hasn’t changed is how Girl Scouts, especially our dedicated troop leaders, rise to meet challenges with a confident “We’ve got this.” And though the COVID-19 pandemic has made it impossible for troops to meet in their usual spaces, we’re redefining what our traditional troop meeting and activities look like.

Through Girl Scouts at Home, we are proud to offer free access to Girl Scout activities. Plus, troop leaders will find the tools and support you need you keep yourself and your troop strong, even when you can't meet in person.

For each age group, ranging from kindergarten through 12th grade, you’ll find two full badge activity guides that allow girls to earn official Girl Scout badges. Additionally, we’ve partnered with our Girl Scout community far and wide to offer you special videos leading girls through additional activities associated with other badges they may want to learn about. Many of the official Badge Booklets are available digitally for a small fee. As always, leaders can tap into the Volunteer Toolkit to help you along the way.

We also recommend articles from GSUSA's Tips for Troop Leaders hub, that include suggestions for virtual meetings, tips on talking to kids about coronavirus, remote troop resources, and a calendar of upcoming virtual events by council.

Additional Girl Scout Resources:

  • All Things Girl Scouts- great things happening in, around, and because of Girl Scouts. Written and published by Girl Scouts of Citrus.
  • GSUSA virtual content- Stay connected to Girl Scouts across the nation and around the world.

Not a Girl Scout? Not a problem! We're making select Girl Scout program resources available to every girl, parent, caregiver, volunteer, and troop leader. It's our way of doing our part during these challenging times, and to do what Girl Scouts always do: make the world a better place. And of course, if you'd like to learn more about joining Girl Scouts, we're here for you!
