Orientation is an important first step to getting started in a new role as a Girl Scout volunteer. An effective orientation, facilitated by the Service Team, will help volunteers understand their roles as they relate to the overall Council purpose and to the particular position for which they will volunteer. An effective orientation will help volunteers assume their roles with greater confidence and satisfaction.
Kudos to the following Service Units for providing orientations for their new volunteers and returning the evaluation sheets to the Council office:
- Sunset Scouts
- Northern Lights
- Land O’Lakes
- Old Harbor Bay
- Beautiful Waters
- Suncatchers
- Land of the Silver Moon
The Volunteer Orientation Checklist is available for all Service Units to conduct orientations with their new volunteers. For copies, contact Maurna Williams at mwilliams@gswcf.org or call 800-881-4475, ext. 221.
