First-Aid Courses

Email this page / Print this page / Text size adjust: A A A

A Girl Scout First Aider is an adult who has taken Girl Scout Council-approved First Aid and CPR training. First Aiders are needed for physically demanding activities and other activities involving a potential for injury.

Leaders should take advantage of the First Aid training offered by local chapters of American Red Cross, American Safety and Health Institute, EMP America, National Safety Council, Stonehearth Open Learning Opportunity, American Heart Association and the courses offered by Girl Scouts of West Central Florida. (Safety-Wise, page 36)

The following health care providers may also serve as First Aiders for Girl Scout groups: physician, physician’s assistant, nurse practitioner, registered nurse, licensed practical nurse, paramedic, military medic or emergency medical technician. (Safety-Wise, page 37).

For complete information about this topic, please refer to your copy of Safety-Wise, pages 36 and 37.

The First Aid course is no longer offered as a distance learning opportunity. Please review our training schedule for updated information about the CPR and First Aid courses scheduled in all three locations: Lakeland, Ocala and Tampa.
