A Message to Parents

Email this page / Print this page / Text size adjust: A A A

Dear Girl Scout Parent,

As a parent, you play a significant role in providing leadership, mentoring and support to your children. As a Girl Scout parent, you understand that the Girl Scout experience will help your daughter realize her potential, fulfill her dreams, build strong friendships and become tomorrow’s leader.

Without your involvement in Girl Scouting, we would not be able to deliver on the promise of our mission – to build girls of courage, confidence, and character, who make the world a better place.

Girl Scouts of West Central Florida wants to give you the opportunity to assure every girl, everywhere receives the best Girl Scout experience just as you have done for your daughter. Your voice as a parent is crucial in developing the Girl Scout programs and policies that have the greatest impact on girls.

The Board Development Committee is seeking to expand parents’ involvement on the Girl Scouts of West Central Florida Board. Board members make key policy decisions that should incorporate the insight, individual talents and expertise of Girl Scout parents – those who know our Girl Scouts the best.

Being a board member brings an opportunity to grow personally and professionally. Board members advocate for Girl Scouting in the community, gain valuable skills and set the overall direction for the council to fulfill its mission at every level.

The Council is governed by a volunteer Board with board members representing all areas of the council jurisdiction. Board members bring a broad diversity of business, professional and personal experience, as well as a commitment to the vision and values of Girl Scouting.

For more information on how you can get involved on the Girl Scouts of West Central Florida Board, please contact Board Development Committee Chair Marion Rich, marionrich@aol.com.
