Adult Learning Courses Listed in Fall Guide
Starting this fall, our adult learning courses will be listed in the
Fall Guide, which will also include girl program events and a
community resource directory. Registration for adult learning
courses is being streamlined to achieve a more efficient process.
This will include scheduling courses farther in advance as well as
closing registration for adult learning courses two weeks prior to
the course.
FAQs About Adult Learning
How do I register for an adult learning course?
Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis, and
participants can register for courses on our website (www.gswcf.org).
GSWCF cannot “save spaces” or take registrations over the phone.
Registration for adult learning courses closes TWO WEEKS PRIOR to
the course/event or when the maximum number of registrations has
been received.
Real-Time Registration
When you register for adult learning courses online, you will be
able to see, real time, exactly how many available spots are
remaining for each course. Each course has a minimum and maximum
number of participants, and you will be able to see what the
remaining maximum current capacities are before you register. If the
capacity is met or exceeded, the online system will not allow any
more participants to register for that course.
When will I receive confirmations?
You will receive an automated registration receipt via e-mail
immediately after your space has been confirmed and reserved.
Confirmation with details on what to bring, address and other
important information will be e-mailed two weeks prior to the course
or event. If a course or event is canceled, participants will be
notified two weeks prior to the date of the course.
New
STEM-Focused Adult Learning Courses!
We have new and exciting courses coming this fall for our
volunteers! The first of these special trainings will focus on
facilitating STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) projects
with girls. These unique workshops are sponsored by Techbridge of
Chabot Science Center in Oakland, Calif.
The first two learning opportunities are Power it Up and Design Time (descriptions below). Both trainings will be offered for the first time on Saturday, Aug. 29 at the Tampa Service Center. After trainings are completed, totes will be available to adult volunteers who wish to facilitate these activities with girls. Space is limited; please sign up online to ensure your slot for Aug. 29!
