QSP/Nut Fall Product Sales Program – Unlock the Mystery!

Girl Scout Investigators (GSI) Unlock the Mystery!

The 2009 QSP/Nut Sale Program theme encourages girls to “Unlock the Mysteries” of day-to-day life. Girls will work as a team to investigate the QSP and Nut products, learn what their favorites are, and share the information with customers. Girls will be challenged to ask questions, make decisions and choices, and plan and solve problems together.

The Be A Reader activity book will be filled with fun activities for each grade level including:

  • Daisies – Bee Mystery Maze: Girls learn how honeybees contribute by carrying pollen from one plant to another.

  • Brownies – Mystery in the Mirror: Girls look in mirrors and determine if they could be people who care about their communities and want to make them better.

  • Juniors – Down the Road: Take Action: Girls are challenged to find a genuine need in their community and put together a solution.

  • Cadettes – Emphatically Seeking Empathy: Girls learn the meaning of the word “empathy” and how it is an important quality to exercise.

  • Seniors – Who’s in Charge Here?: Girls find out if they control money or it controls them.

  • Ambassadors – Fraud Fighter: Girls are encouraged to lead an activity about fairness and honesty.

The Ashdon Farms activity guide continues the theme with activities such as (investigative) team building, making plans and setting goals as a team, identifying community problems and solving them together.

This annual fall product sale is a great way for troops to earn start up money for their program activities. The sale consists of two parts; QSP is the magazine subscription (new & renewals), music, and book ordering and the nuts and candy. Each girl will receive her materials in mid August or early September. The sale starts September 11 and nuts are delivered in early November.

Important Dates:

  • Aug. 7 & 8: Service Unit QSP/Nut manager training. Invitations will be sent to the managers with all the details.

  • After Aug. 8: Troop QSP/Nut managers training will be conducted within the service units.

  • Mid-August – Sept. 10: Girl/Parent meeting to plan and set goals (parents will sign a permission slip and girls sign a participation agreement).

  • Sept. 11 – Oct. 11: Fall Product Sale Program dates
