Earn the President’s Volunteer Service Award
Girl Scouts of West Central Florida is a certifying organization for the President’s Volunteer Service Award program.

The President’s Volunteer Service Award is a presidential honor that recognizes the valuable contributions of volunteers nationwide who are answering former President George W. Bush’s call to serve others through their current volunteer activities or lifetime service. As a certifying organization, GSWCF will identify eligible recipients, verify their service hours and order the awards for outstanding volunteers. The cost of the awards ranges from $2 to $3 per person. If you meet the eligibility requirements outlined in the table below, we invite you to apply for the award. Many of you may already meet the requirements!

Eligible volunteer service hours are not limited to those performed on behalf of Girl Scouting. Service hours can be accumulated through work on a variety of projects throughout the year. The only requirement is that the hours be completed within 12 months; you can qualify for a new award each year.

The President’s Volunteer Service Award website can help you keep track of your service hours. Create an account and provide Record of Service Key RMH-8866. This will link your account directly to the account of Girl Scouts of West Central Florida so that we can certify your volunteer hours.

For more information, contact the volunteer records manager: 800-881-4475, ext. 1766.

At this time, the program is only certifying volunteer hours served through 2008. These certificates will be signed by former President Bush.

Volunteer Training Records & Traveling Troops
Adult volunteer training records and service unit reports are not available at this time due to a software and database transition. Individual training can be manually pulled and checked if verification is needed for an upcoming trip, but will require additional processing time. For fastest service, please include copies of certifications, and/or training cards with your troop trip approval form. Just a gentle reminder:  troop trips can be approved at the service unit level for all travel within the state of Florida.
