Cookie Program – A Lasting Investment In Our Community!
The Girl Scout Cookie Program is in full swing! On Friday, Jan. 9,
Girl Scouts began participating in goal-setting, money-management
and philanthropy activities in the Little Brownie Meeting Kits,
making their plans for the proceeds, building their budgets, and, of
course taking pre-orders from all their friends, family, neighbors
and at their relatives’ offices.
Girls have also embraced the Gift of Caring Cookies from Home
community service project. This program is ideal for all those
customers who want to support Girl Scouts and our military men and
women with a taste of home through Girl Scout Cookies. Girls will
take orders for these cookies, collect the money and order them from
the council, but do not have to deliver them. The council will order
the cookies from Little Brownie Bakers and they will ship to the
Support Our Troops organization, who then distributes them to our
military men and women serving overseas.
The pre-ordered cookies will be delivered Feb. 19 – 21 to the troop
cookie program manager, and the girls will begin delivering their
orders to their customers after pick up. Booth sales start Friday,
Feb. 27 and run through Sunday, March 22. Each service unit cookie
program manager will submit booth locations for the Cookie Booth
Locator system, located on the Cookie Program webpage on our
website. This system will allow customers to enter a zip code and
find a booth in their area!
Most service units will have Mystery Shoppers out and about at the
booths during the direct sale time; girls who meet the criteria of a
great booth will receive booth patches. Check with your service unit
cookie program manager to find out about this program.

recognitions for the 2009 Cookie Program. Please contact the
director of product sales

QSP/Nut Fall Sale Program
The QSP/Nut Fall Sale Program concluded in December with more than
5,550 girls participating. The theme of Go Green – Observe and
Conserve offered the girls many activities and ideas on how to
recycle and reuse. The program activities were also linked to Daisy
petals, Brownie Try-its, Junior badges and older girl interest
project awards.
New this year was the opportunity to order magazines, music and
books online. Girls entered their contacts in the online ordering
site and an e-mail was sent to the customers listing all the
selections available. More than 2,790 orders were placed online,
with the girls and the troops receiving the proceeds and the
recognitions from these sales in addition to their traditional
catalog orders. Our council is excited about this new and easy way
to sell the magazine portion of the program! In additional to the
magazines, the girls had 12 varieties of nut and candy products to
offer their customers.
Troops retained $129,570 in proceeds from the program, and 229
troops received a bonus gift certificate to the Girl Scout Store for
earning more than $200 in total proceeds. The top selling girl from
each service unit will receive three tickets to Lowry Park Zoo, a
gift certificate to the zoo store and an offer from the council to
make a donation to their favorite charity in their name. The names
of the top selling girls for each service unit are listed on our
website.
The Fall Product Sale Program is an annual fundraiser that benefits
the Girl Scouts of West Central Florida in two ways: at the troop
level with the girls deciding how they want to spend their proceeds,
and at the council level with proceeds supporting our five camp
properties, adult training, program activities and the Girl
Opportunity Fund.
