Challenge Course

The challenge course at Camp Dorothy Thomas is an adventure recreation program that offers girls the opportunity to participate in a series of activities involving mental, physical and emotional risk-taking.
The course features wall climbing, rappelling, a zip line and a giant swing. Half-day, one-day and two-day programs range from $20 to $40 per participant; weekend programs include Saturday and Sunday.

Please note that the Challenge Course cannot be reserved through the Online Camping Reservation System. Our Customer Connections Team is here to help you make a reservation, contact customerconnections@gswcf.org or 813-281-4475.

Kiln Programs

You’ll be able to relax and unwind while painting or sculpting a wonderful piece of pottery to give as a gift, enjoy for yourself, or create a lasting memory! Some options include painting a ceramic tile, cup, plate, or one of many other art projects.

This awesome program is available at Camp Dorothy Thomas (Riverview) and Camp Wai Lani (Palm Harbor).

Adult Volunteers
Archery Program 

Be on target and learn basic archery skills from signals to shooting a bulls-eye – you’ll definitely make your mark.

Program is available at Camp Dorothy Thomas (Riverview), Camp Indian Echo (Hudson), Camp Scoutcrest (Odessa), Camp Wai Lani (Palm Harbor) and Camp Wildwood (Wildwood).

Program options and costs vary. Activity dates do not have to be coordinated with camping dates; however, please allow three to four weeks of advance planning.
