Welcome!

Discover the great outdoors!

Take Action in making the world a better place!
You’ve got to check out what’s going on at camp this summer! Camp is a place where you’ll make new friends, hike, and learn outdoor cooking, paddling a canoe, swimming, archery or about ceremonies. Girl Scouts of West Central Florida offers girls three exciting summer camp locations. Whether the camp is in the beautiful old forest of Camp Wildwood, the rolling hills of Camp Dorothy Thomas, or along the edge of a pristine private lake like Camp Scoutcrest, you’ll have fun in the themed programs and activities. Select programs from high adventure, horses, arts, video, swimming and sports, just to name a few.
All of our camps host outdoor program activities that focus on skill building and environmental education. Camp is a great place to have fun, meet new friends and practice leadership skills in outdoor surroundings. Camp is a place where girls learn to live and work together and prepare for the challenges of every day life. We’re proud to report that many of our campers return every summer. As part of the camp community, girls benefit from a multitude of opportunities while enjoying the outdoors, and gain confidence in themselves as they try new activities that build skills.
Our camps lay the foundation for girls to learn independence, leadership and personal power as they enjoy new friendships. Best of all – camp is fun! Our camps are exclusively for girls, both Girl Scouts and non-Girl Scout friends. Girls who aren’t currently Girl Scouts can join and come to one of our camps for the summer – it’s just that easy! Your daughter can even invite her best friend to share her summer fun. We promise that safety is always our number-one priority at all of our camp properties.
Our staff is selected on the basis of experience; the ability to serve as a role model; and a genuine desire to work with children – respecting each child as an individual and allowing her to feel good about who she is. All camp staff participate in extensive pre-camp training.
We hope to see you at camp next summer!
