Day Camp 2009

Email this page / Print this page / Text size adjust: A A A

Day Camping provides opportunities for girls to enjoy outdoor activities and learn independence skills that will prepare them for a more extended stay at a Girl Scout Resident Camp. Experienced volunteers are responsible for organizing, directing and staffing Day Camps that generally operate for three to five days. Training is provided for adult volunteers who wish to work in a Day Camp setting. Day Camps are offered in many areas of the council.

GENERAL INFORMATION

How To Register

Girls may register for any Day Camp listed by printing and completing the Registration and Health forms. Please duplicate the forms as needed. The number of adults who volunteer at each Day Camp directly impacts the number of girls who may be served by the Day Camp. Mail registration to contact information listed for camp you have chosen. Do not mail registration to any service center. All Day Camps have limited capacities, so register early!

Health and Safety of Girls

All Day Camps follow safety policies and procedures in Safety-Wise. Each Day Camp will have a Camp First Aider. Along with the Registration Form, each camper (girls, adults, and tag alongs) must submit a Health Form to the Day Camp First Aider.

Costs

Please read the descriptions carefully. Costs vary and cover different areas in each camp. Please include an additional ten dollars for girls not currently registered with Girl Scouts.

What to Wear and Bring

All campers (girls, adults, and tag alongs) must bring a non-breakable cup, sack lunch and beverage every day, except on cook out days. Wear comfortable outdoor clothing such as t-shirts, shorts, socks and closed-toe shoes (preferably tennis shoes) Sunscreen and non-aerosol insect repellent should also be included in items brought to camp.

Confirmation

Confirmation information will be emailed to each registered camper one to two weeks before camp. It will include location of Day Camp and specific items to bring to the Day Camp.

Refunds

Refunds will only be made when Day Camp has filled or if the Day Camp is cancelled.

Transportation

Parents/guardians are responsible for transportation of campers to and from Day camp. Please respect the drop off and pick up times. Questions: Contact the camp director listed or Becca Amy, Outdoor Program Director at ramy@gswcf.org.
