Day camping provides opportunities for girls to enjoy outdoor activities and learn independence skills that will prepare them for a more extended stay at a Girl Scout Resident Camp. Experienced volunteers are responsible for organizing, directing and staffing day camps that generally operate for three to five days. Training is provided for adult volunteers who wish to work in a day camp setting, offered in many areas of the Council.

How To Register

Girls may register for any day camp listed by completing the Registration/Health Form that accompanies this brochure. Please duplicate the form as needed. The number of adults who volunteer at each day camp directly impacts the number of girls who may be served by the day camp. All day camps have limited capacities, so register early!

Health and Safety of Girls

All day camps follow safety policies and procedures in Safety-Wise. Each day camp will have a camp First Aider on site. Along with the Registration Form, each camper (girls, adults and tag-alongs) must submit a Health Form to the day camp First Aider.

Costs

Please read the descriptions carefully. Costs vary and cover different areas in each camp. Please include an additional $10 for girls not currently registered with Girl Scouts; this will cover their membership in Girl Scouts and insurance.

What to Wear and Bring

All campers (girls, adults and tagalongs) must bring a non-breakable cup, sack lunch and beverage every day, except on cook out days. Wear comfortable outdoor clothing such as t-shirts, shorts, socks and closed-toe shoes (preferably tennis shoes). Sunscreen and non-aerosol insect repellent should also be included in items brought to camp.

Confirmation

Confirmation information will be e-mailed to each registered camper one to two weeks before camp. It will include the location of day camp and specific items to bring to the day camp.

Refunds

Refunds will only be made when day camp has filled or if it is cancelled.

Transportation

Parents/guardians are responsible for transportation of campers to and from day camp. Please respect the drop off and pick up times.
