Horse Sense Interest Project Patch Workshop

Develop your interview skills and ability to work as a team as you work together to earn your Horse Sense Interest Project patch over two days at Camp Wildwood. Learn new things about the care of horses, and on the second day enjoy a one-hour riding lesson to strengthen your horsemanship skills. Take your horse experience one step forward and see what challenges you can surmount in an atmosphere where girls succeed.

$50/girl – $60/non-member

Night Tails

Embark on a journey set to the theme of Africa. March into the wee hours on a road to discovery, meeting and investigating nocturnal animals face-to-face. See, hear, smell and touch the special adaptations that help them survive in the dark. Have fun with sensory games that help you understand animals’ heightened awareness at night. Go behind the scenes to meet amazing animals and hand-feed giraffes their breakfast in the morning. Sleepover includes dinner, continental breakfast and t-shirt.

Jungala Journey

Trek beneath the shadows of giant trees and tip toe across the forest floor as you explore select zoo areas to observe animals at night. Investigate how animals specialize in moving about, finding food and getting to know each other under the many layers of a tropical forest. Discover nocturnal senses through activities in the dark and meet jungle creatures during a behind the scenes animal encounter. Sleepover includes dinner, continental breakfast and t-shirt.

EndangerQuest

Ready for a challenge? Negotiate through Jungala in a test of your combined wildlife knowledge and ability to solve puzzles. Compete using clues, communication and navigational devices to identify endangered animals and recognize forest animal adaptations. Discuss the global impact of the loss of tropical forests and search for solutions during program interactions. Explore select zoo areas to observe animals at night and meet exotic jungle animals face to face. Sleepover includes dinner, continental breakfast and t-shirt.

Twilight Travelers

Go on a nighttime quest to explore the world of nocturnal creatures from around the globe. Travel through the zoo after hours and encounter some of the world’s fiercest predators and largest herbivores. Enjoy interactive activities designed to test your nighttime sense of perception and discover more about nocturnal adaptations through an up-close animal encounter. Take a safari at sunrise and hand-feed giraffes their breakfast. Sleepover includes dinner, continental breakfast and t-shirt.

Brownie Bookworms

Increase your love of reading. Help select a new book to read, then chat online with new friends about what you learned. Parents: Brownie Bookworms will help choose the books each month. They will also participate in safe, live online chats facilitated by a Girl Scout volunteer with other Girl Scout friends who belong to our virtual book club. Patch included.

All girls who indicate interest before Oct. 1 will be e-mailed by Oct. 6 to determine meeting times and dates. If chosen dates conflict with your schedule, a full refund will be issued.

$5/girl, plus the cost of the books
