Girl Board Members

Email this page / Print this page / Text size adjust: A A A

Board of Directors – you can be a member!

The slate that will be presented at this year’s Annual meeting for approval by the delegates is not complete. That’s because we’re still looking for a girl Board member. Yes, we have girls on our Board of Directors. Two of them! True, they are non-voting members but they participate in all the other Board activities, and they have the vital role of representing you – the girls – in ways adults may not be able to.

Being a girl Board member is more than just a title to include on your college application someday. It’s a commitment you must take seriously, and you must make it a priority among all your many activities. But it’s also the kind of challenge that prepares you to take your first adult steps into government, business and corporate operations.

Girl Board members serve one-year terms, and they can serve two consecutive terms, for a total of two years. You must be a registered Girl Scout, age 14 or older. Are you up to the task? We think you are! Challenge yourself and compete the application form that you’ll find on the website, and then send it in to the Council. If you prefer, contact Kathy Sandy, Executive Assistant to receive an application in the mail. Applications are due May 2, 2008.
